I posted the picture below on Instagram the other day and got a lot of comments asking for the guacamole recipe. So here it is….Homemade Habanero Guacamole! Oh, and if you are not a spicy fiend like me, you don’t have to use the habanero in this guacamole recipe but, in my opinion, it makes it soooooooo good. Maybe go for jalapeño instead and then work your way up to a habanero.
-1 mashed avocado
-juice from 1/2 a lemon
-1/4 cup chopped white onion
-cumin to taste
-fresh ground pepper to taste
-habanero to taste
*If you want it less spicy, leave out the seeds. I used about 1 tbsp chopped habanero with seeds included because I am a spicy lady :)*
The thing about this guacamole recipe is that you can really make it your own. I have added extra veggies (i.e. bell pepper, tomatoes, chopped green beans) before and that also makes it really delicious. I am an Italian girl, so I am not a huge fan of recipes. I use recipes more as guidelines and then give it my own twists and turns as I wish. I am a rebel….I know! Whether you want a more creamy or chunky texture you can mash up your avocado to the consistency that you wish and/or add more veggies.
Enjoy 🙂
