I just love the weekends because I actually have time to experiment in the kitchen and create new yummy recipes – like this one. I know it may sound weird that I added rosemary to a smoothie but FYI it was freakin’ delish. This Rosemary Berry Smoothie is super easy to make and you only need 5 ingredients that most of you probably already have in your house.
Why rosemary? Well, I have rosemary in my garden that is honestly the strongest, super hero of a plant I have ever seen. I planted it LAST spring and used it a lot in various recipes, then winter came. The rest of my herbs and plants died except for the rosemary. I didn’t water it at all – all winter. It definitely got snowed and rained on and it survived the winter and now is still in full effect this summer. Now, I don’t have a super duper green thumb, so I am not 100% sure if that’s even normal but I am convinced I have the strongest rosemary plant in the world and I had to consume it in order to get some of these powers. That’s the reason I added it to this smoothie.
Rosemary Berry Smoothie
Ingredients for this smoothie:
-1 cup frozen blueberries
-1 cup of fresh mango
-2 cups unsweetened almond milk
-1 TBSP chia seeds
-a bit of fresh rosemary (it’s better to add less and then add more after you taste it – you don’t want it too rosemary-y)
Put all of the ingredients in your blender & blend! If you are using fresh blueberries you can add ice to make sure you get that thick smoothie consistency.
