Happy New Year!
I trust your holiday season was filled with cherished moments and meaningful connections. As we step into 2024, I’m SO excited about what this year will bring and is already bringing.
The New Year brings with it a sense of wonder, hope, and the prospect of new beginnings. However, it also has a tendency to create a false urgency to overhaul your life in a week or achieve a multitude of goals.
It’s common to enthusiastically declare intentions like eliminating ALL toxic products, decluttering every room in my house, adopting a cleaner diet, reorganizing my life, shedding 30 pounds, and committing to twice-daily workouts. The motivation is palpable, and you’re eager to embark on a fresh start.
Yet, often that can-do, must-do spirit wanes, leaving you feeling disheartened if all your goals aren’t met by January 15th.
May I offer you some encouragement? Ignore the external pressures from social media about what others claim to achieve in 2024. Don’t stress about keeping pace or pursuing goals at a rhythm that doesn’t align with your own.
Focus on what truly matters. Instead of attempting a complete overhaul, let’s concentrate on enhancing and incorporating one positive habit, one day at a time.
Ready to initiate small changes for the New Year? Consider 4 these suggestions:
1. Engage in a physical activity you enjoy
Whether it’s yoga, walking, playing tennis, biking, or hiking. No performance pressure – just pick something you love and get your body moving. My friend Kevin Suber says, “You can’t walk the walk if you can’t walk.” #micdrop
2. Increase your intake of fruits and veggies
Instead of emphasizing specific servings and macros, simply explore enjoyable ways to include a variety of color in your meals. Try smoothies, add veggies to scrambled eggs, experiment with veggie-based sauces, or simply roast them with salt and pepper.
3. Dedicate 15 minutes to decluttering your living space
Donate usable items to a local charity to bless others and create room for what truly matters to you. You don’t have to do every single room in the house or tackle the garage today…start with 15 minutes and you’ll be really surprised by how much can get done in a short amount of time and how great it feels.
4. Gradually replace toxic products with cleaner alternatives
Begin with one or two items that’s it. Small changes that you implement this new year will always make a difference. And remember, I’m here to assist you in finding skincare or makeup that suits both you and your budget.
Choose the suggestion that resonates most with you. No need to succumb to pressure; focus on making small, meaningful changes.
Start with just one thing.
I’m cheering you on, friend!
